Honda Element Becomes Even MORE Dog-Friendly!

| | Comments (0)

When Honda first produced the Element, do you suppose they realized what a dog-friendly car they had created?  If they didn't then, they do now, And they're looking to capitalize on its reputation by making it even MORE suitable for hauling around the canines in your life.

According to Reuters, the car will come with a built-in water bowl, fan, and a ramp, as well as easy-wash seat covers.  Sounds lovely, but all of these things can easily be accomodated in any car, so this sounds a little like a gimmick to me.  My definition of a good dog car includes things that can't easily be changed about a car, such as the ability to house large crates, and good ventilation.  The Honda Element already has those things, so the rest is just icing on the crate.

The Honda web site lists the Dog Friendly Element as a concept car coming in Fall 2009.

In the meantime, if you'd like to have a ramp, dog seatbelt, fan or easy wash seat covers, visit the CarGoDogs Store.  That kind of stuff is out there for cars of just about any size or shape.
